1. "Today I did something that I never would have thought I would have been able to do." A girl I've known since high school was talking to one of my friends about how she came out to her parents as being transgender.
2. "45% of the time he annoys her. 45% of the time she's not nice to him." My coworker talking about her 1 year old son and 3 year old daughter.
3."Shit so temporary nowadays." My friend talking about dating and relationships.
4. "It's alright not to know all the answers." One of my professors talking to the class.
5. "Your going to be happy" My sister said this while talking on the phone to one of her friends who I think broke up with her boyfriend.

INT. EMPTY BAR- SOFT MUSIC PLAYING- DARK AND DINGY

MARYLIN sits alone at the empty bar, head down staring into her glass, swaying back and fourth on her stool. Soft music plays in the background, while she tries to hum along to the tone. Suddenly, cold air fills the room as OLIVIA enters the bar. She squints for a minute, eyes adjusting to the dark. She spots MARYLIN and takes a seat next to her.

OLIVIA

I’m trying really hard right now to stay calm with you. I’ve been calling you non-stop all day with no response but then you urgently want me to come here?! Whatever your excuse is to bring me out in this dreaded weather to this hellhole better be good.

MARYLIN looks down at her drink, never once making eye contact. She clears her throat and talks in a soft, withdrawn tone.

MARYLIN

Today I did something that I never would have thought I would have been able to do.

OLIVIA orders a drink and takes a sip.

OLIVIA

And that was what exactly?

MARYLIN

I kicked him out.

OLIVIA almost chokes on her drink.

OLIVIA

I should have come sooner. I’m so sorry. I know that must have been hard.

MARYLIN

It was time. Shit so temporary nowadays.

OLIVIA

Still. I know it must have hurt.

MARYLIN clenches her glass tighter.

MARYLIN

It’s not the hurt so much that bothers me, more the fact of what he will have to live with now. 45% of the time he annoys her. 45% of the time she's not nice to him.

OLIVIA

It's alright not to know all the answers right now. Give it some time. Everything will work itself out. You’re going to be happy.

This is one of my best friends/boyfriend, Barry Chandler. He is a student at Ivy Tech, hoping to transfer next year to IUSB. He is majoring in business right now, but his real passion is in being a tv or a radio producer. In his free time he loves to play video games and likes to make videos for youtube. He actually has a following base of 11,000 now. He grew up in South Bend his whole life, and has not had an easy life but has found a way to succeed and follow his dreams anyways. He also works full time at Menards and is training to become a manager. I think he would be good to interview because he relates to a college students life and he works hard and doesn't give up.

Log line: When the Ordinary Builds to Extraordinary

Group: Marissa, Rosa, and Kaitlyn

For our video we will be starting off with four shots on one screen. When the beat hits, one new one will come up until all four are on the screen. There will be a single scene on the beat and then cutting from image to image on the beat until four are seen. The colors will be black and white during this tile and the cutting will be at a slow pace. Then it will shift to color to mirror the sound of the music and gradually get louder and a somewhat faster pace. Some examples of the things we are going to have are balloons slowly being blown up, and then cut to paint dripping, for example. Then cut back to the balloons being blown bigger. The events are basically happening parallel to one another. This music video will be shot in well lite areas, and ones that contrast well with what we are trying to do with the color scheme. There will also be slow motions shots done. The location this will be shot is at a private home resident. It is going to be shot with natural light and in a garage. There is not a cast, since we are just shooting objects. The target audience is young adults, or really anyone but more than likely younger viewers may not get the meaning of it. The genre of the song is classical but of the music video it will be fantasy. The whole concept is basically showing items alone and then building up to there being more of the same thing, or it expanding. The song starts off slow so the items will start off alone and in black and white, then when the song picks up pace and excitement, the items will have color and begin to look more lively.  An example of this would be a single water droplet running down something, then cut and show three more, while following the beat.  The story line that we are doing is showing simple items come to life and be more than what they seem.

Music Video Analysis

I chose the song Starboy by The Weeknd. This music video has a combination of all three qualities. It is a narrative, it somewhat tells a story and feels like a story is being played out. It is also a performative video too, he is singing his song and basically preforming it. Lastly it is a conceptual music video because there are symbols present within, giving it a deeper meaning. The visual element of color is really used well in the video, it stays dark throughout giving it a heavy feeling, but the key parts that he wants attention brought to are red, like the cross, the car. The lighting in this video is dark until he lights the room on fire the color changes to brighter, which symbolizes him leaving his old life behind and starting a new phase in his life. The rhythm stays the same throughout basically and he stays on beat with it and the scenes stay on beat to it, like when he talks about the car he is actually in it. A key moment in the video is when he kills the old him and starts destroying things in his house. This symbolizes him starting fresh and making a new him. These moments are shown as important because they are brighter and also when he kills his old self there is intense music playing in the background. The camera moves around a lot, mostly to follow him as he walks and drives. It moves a lot because he is the main focus of the video. The video does follow the story of the song, but also reinterprets it too. When hearing the song without the video, you can somewhat understand the meaning, but with the video you can clearly see what the meaning is and also see how he intended it to be interrupted.

Finding Nemo

Tagline- One mistake causes Nemo an adventure of a lifetime

Logline- A clownfish that loses his son and finds himself in the journey. New friends are made along the way and lessons taught.

Scene-The scene where Nemo tries to touch the boat and he gets taken.

Resources- Animation, voices, computer programs

Synopsis- Nemo tries to be brave and touch the boat and his dad sees him and tells him to get back, but then Nemo gets abducted.

About me

I chose this photo of myself because I think it describes me well as a person. I'm independent, adventurous, and some what shy. I also love to be outside and love summer. This was taken on a beach in Florida last summer. Some of my interests include, playing video games, reading, sleeping, shopping, traveling, and watching movies and TV shows. I don't really have a favorite movie, as of right now my favorite TV shows are Criminal Minds and Stranger Things (Netflix show). If I could make any kind of media without restriction I would make a movie, TV show, a video game, or a the next innovative smartphone. My major is graphic design and my goal is to be a graphic designer and either make websites or just design logos and things for companies. I would also like to move when I graduate to a bigger city where design work is more easier to find. I'm interested in making media because I want to make an impact on things and make something that lasts. I feel that if a design or a movie is good enough it will defeat the stamp of time and will be viewed for centuries.
